Higham Ferrers Craft & Vintage Fairs

So as I mentioned last week, I have booked monthly Craft & Vintage Fairs to run at the same time as the very popular Farmers’ Markets in Higham Ferrers. They are usually on the last Saturday of every month (except in December) and run 9am-1pm. The flyers and banner have been ordered and I’ve started putting up posters to advertise this event – MANY more to follow! Lots of bookings have already started coming in which is wonderful. Please remember that these events are for HANDMADE and VINTAGE items only.

Occasionally the Working Men’s Club may have another booking so we will need to move venues as I’m really keen for this event to be held every month so that people who come into Higham Ferrers for the Market will know that we are on too. There are 2 dates this year that the WMC is busy (29th October and 17th December) but I have managed to book the Band Club which is just round the corner on Wharf Road for these dates. They have a lovely big airy hall upstairs (no lift so keep this mind if mobility is an issue or you have very heavy boxes!) which we can use and I have now booked for these 2 dates. If any stallholders have booked the WMC for either of these dates and would prefer not to use the Band Club I would be happy to transfer your booking to another date.

There is a car park at the hall which will fit around 12 cars and we should be able to use the car park at the hall opposite (to be confirmed). There is also a free car park by the Doctors’ Surgery on Saffron Road which is only round the corner which stallholders can also use once they have unloaded. For the dates at the Band Club I will provisionally limit the number of stalls to 20 and take it from there! The Band Club is opposite Higham Ferrers Junior School and Higham Ferrers Nursery and Infant School so plenty of passing trade to see the banner!

At all of the events I will place the large pavement signs at each end of the Market to advertise where we are and also one on the corner of Wharf Road to point people in the right direction so I’m sure people will see us! I have also just written an article for the Nene Valley News which will hopefully be published on 2nd July. This introduces Rainbow Craft Events and advertises the events in Higham Ferrers and Raunds. I’ll continue to write them for this fortnightly newspaper as it reaches so many people locally.

As always, feedback is welcome. I’ll look forward to hearing from you!

Louise

PS 3 large pavement signs and 5 sets of the smaller signs have been put out for the Handmade, Vintage and Gift Shopping Event at Saxon Hall, Raunds 2nd July. Have you seen them and WHERE!?

A lovely day in Kimbolton

So today was the second Craft Fair at the Mandeville Hall in Kimbolton. We had 20 fantastic stalls, as always the quality and diversity of stalls was wonderful. I’m always so impressed with how much effort everyone puts into making their stalls look so appealing and yet again, many customers commented on that to me too. Customers also commented several times at how nice it was to see a craft fair where all the items for sale are handmade rather than bought in which was great to hear.

There was a great selection including chocolate novelties (very popular today!), upcycled vintage and vintage craft items, wicker hearts, cushions, bunting, toys, crochet, wax melts, preserves, children’s pottery painting, cakes, dream catchers, jewellery, war time foods and plenty more!

It wasn’t the busiest day we’ve ever had but there was a good steady flow of people throughout the day and they all seemed to leave with a bag of goodies which is great! One stallholder described their day as  ‘phenomenal’ so I’m delighted to hear that! It was also great to see how friendly all the stallholders were, sharing tips and buying from each other’s stalls, there is always such a fantastic relaxed atmosphere at all the Rainbow Craft Events Craft Fairs which I’m really proud of. A lovely day had by all!

Higham Ferrers Craft & Vintage Fairs

I’m over the moon with the amazing response to the Higham Ferrers Craft & Vintage Fairs which are booked to run at the same time (9am-1pm) as the Farmers’ Markets on the last Saturday of each month. Places are being booked right up to the end of the year so please do get in touch if you are interested in a stall (£15). The first one will be on Saturday 30th July. Thank you, Louise
